Chemistry. With all these new players, they need time to meld. Tough to do with him in and out of the lineup. fingers crossed for some consistency.

Peterson 100% has chronic exertional pain (compartment) syndrome. During exercise, pressure in muscle compartments increase, leading to the feeling of cramping and weakness. Itâs consistent with exercise. Commonly seen in athletes who over train, like endurance athletes. Your muscle increase in size from training and the fascial outer layer doesnât keep pace. They test it by measuring the pressure of your muscle compartment pre exercise and then post exercise. Everything matches Peterson, typically after a certain amount of exercise he has âcrampsâ. The treatment is conservative, PT (stretch, soft tissue work, orthotics, rest etc). Surgical is a fasciomety. I know they have to protect a players medical, but a healthy 19-20 year old just doesnât just randomly cramp for months. Something obviously is going on more serious for Peterson. It was never a hammy and he never moves like he is having true cramps. Bet money he has this condition.
I donât know if youâre a doctor or just play one on TV, but that sounds like a ominous diagnosis!

RE: Chiefs final playoff push
Ugh, looks like the Chiefs will have mostly all new WRs next season. Rashee Rice seems to be in trouble again. Domestic violence claims this time. Hope it's not true.
It could be that the WR and RB rooms look totally different next year. crazy. maybe not a bad thing though. -

Yeah i add stuff like that to desktop only
Looks fun with the players, but the lower right image made it hard to deal with on desktop for sure. Not a big online design guy, but does saving/creating the image differently make it easier to see through the white bounding box?

I think there is a role this year for Kohl because of DP. Kohl is a guy who understands how to be valuable off ball.
Just needs to make a couple 3s
I wish i could hit the upvote button, but Big Dave is blocking me!

Game Chat Tues. 1/6 8:00 CT:@Jayhawk_69 i would start jamari instead. Feel like he has earned it.
We need to be able to rebound. Tiller helps there. Without him i'm afraid we'd get demolished on the boards. Post presence, too. Well, we haven't had much of that lately, but i'm hoping this is all Tiller gaining experience.
He has a good knack for blocking shots, too (tiller). He's just gotta man up and play inside more. Learning curve as he likely thinks he's a 3.
Not many other options for a playable big. Myiba seems pretty stiff.

Nicely done Chiefs! Sucks to lose, but they now own the No. 9 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft! yay.

RE: Darryn Peterson
Btw, I forgot say that when DP was out in the second half, I kept waiting, thinking that Self would put him back in at the 4-minute mark. Save him for the stretch run. bummer all around.

@imajayhawk Self was saying he was on a minute restriction and they screwed it up. -He said also that Darryn was doing good to start the 2nd half and then his knees started to act up some
His knees? Thatâs new. So now we have yet another body part on a 20 year old that is hurting? Yikes.

RE: Darryn Peterson
Well then, i didn't read most of the UCF game thread. How's everybody feel about DP and his play and minutes today?
He was mostly awesome when he played. I thought Self said he was 100% ready to go? Then he sat pretty much the entire 2nd half, sitting in the corner with that stupid muscle machine thing. Why bother if you know you aren't going back in? Are we getting to the point where his teammates resent him? This continues to be a hot mess.
The outside world seems to be roasting DP for quitting on the team. I still don't know what to believe. Annoying as hell.
If I am to believe Self (I admit that is growing increasingly more difficult), and he's on a minutes restriction, i'm 100% in favor of keeping that valuable team chemistry we built without DP starting, and have him come off the bench. Seems like a natural fit if he's limited. 6th man. super sub. microwave.
So, the saga continues...

RE: Kansas Jayhawks at UCF Knights Game Chat Sat. 1/3 1:00 CT
Not so fun with the boxscore!
Very strange stats for a 6 point loss. Mostly even across the board from both teams. our offense went in the crapper late in the second half.
THE GOOD (in the first half!)
DP had pretty much a full game of stats in the first half.
18 minutes played, 23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 sloppy turnovers.
Ended up with 26 points and 6 rebounds. He did have three sloppy turnovers. Great shooting percentages: about 50% on FGs and 3pt shots.
THE BAD (in the first half)
Melvin with a big goose egg for points. But of course we were without him for half the half after he picked up a quick 2 fouls. he had 1 assist.
18 total points: From all KU players not named DP
32 total points: From all UCF players not named Riley Kugel.
THE GOOD (in the second half)
Melvin was a monster one man show. 20 points, but zero 2nd half assists.
THE BAD (in the second half)
14 total points: from all KU players not named DP
30 total points: from all UCF players not named Riley Kugel (just picked one guy)
THE MAYBE GOOD OR BAD
Flory's final stats: 8 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks. But didn't he seem invisible mostly?
Trey's final stats: 14 points, 11 rebounds. He dribbled way too much trying to make things happen. that doesn't seem to be his strength.
Bryson: 2 points, 4 rebounds. a 100% awful game for stats and just watching him. ugh.
RANDOM COMMENTARY
Elmarko: ugh
Jamari: ugh
Kohl: other than those two bouncy effort plays, ugh.

Fingers crossed his health issues are in the past, and we never have to hear about cramping again.

RE: Could this really be true with the Chiefs ?
@farmerjayhawk oddly Kansans do not get to vote on where their hard-earned taxable wages go. STAR bonds, go figure.
-
RE: Darryn Peterson
This is all way too dramatic. So many rumors floating around. I dunno what's what, but it sure seems like we got scammed, but the NIL donors got it much worse.
I hope he plays, but it seems like cramping is an issue he's had since high school at least. Maybe he can spend some of that estimated $4 million and see some specialists? Mayo Clinic? Let's get a move on here! Clock's a tickin'. time's a wastin'.
I can see it now ... we grow some team chemistry without him, then he decides to play in the Big Dance and all chemistry and feel is lost.

@FarmerJayhawk said in Could this really be true with the Chiefs ?:
The whole STAR bond district (at least what weâve been shown) is the entirety of Wyandotte and like half of JoCo. So thatâs the only way the math works, to tax basically the whole Kansas side of the metro. Which is a hell of a bait and switch. Theyâve been saying all along well if you donât use the stadium or right around it you wouldnât pay a dime. Turns out they were full of shit the entire time.
Wait, what? I thought the STAR bonds were from future revenue from the stadium and surrounding businesses? Privy info or is there a map out there?
I've read about these STAR bonds in the past. nothing sounds legit, but they are popular.

Yup, this pretty much sums up my thinking. the whole ordeal makes no sense. Somethingâs amiss and us fans are getting the runaround. If heâs truly injured in some way, I respect that. Heal up. But cramps are not an injury (if itâs cramps). Thatâs an imbalance in your body. Shouldnât take a team of scientists to sort that out. Players are competitive and wanna play. Weirdness.
