@Texas-Hawk-10 said in TBT The Basketball Tournament: @kjayhawks2.0 Vegas is a good base for a lot of national parks in the region like Zion, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, Mojave, Joshua Tree, etc. I’d definitely enjoy that, almost everytime I end up in the big cities, I’m counting the hours til I can leave.

I subscribe to the Crimson & Blue magazine, and I found this fascinating. Here's the link if anyone is interested https://kualumni.org/stories/stephanie-stillo/ [image: 1784847554111-fb14bcb0-9f32-4f24-b53a-de6773708d66-image.png]

Wasn't sure where to put this, but these segments by Greg Gurley (Fans Wanna Know) are a glimpse into the person. This one is Leroy Blyden, Jr. https://x.com/KUHoops/status/2077422942107881845/video/1

@kjayhawks2.0 Hey, I didn't name the category! But generally they are, but I wish they'd play deeper into the tourney every once in a while.

Actually, the broadcasters undoubtedly parked in the small parking lot adjoining the south side of the field house. Great Story: I don't remember the date, only that Cedric Hunter was playing. (The 6' guard had arms so long that he had to have his shirts specially made. 36 long wasn't long enough for Cedric.) Anyway, we were late to the game. I had stopped for a take-out pizza along the way from KC. My wife had the pizza box in her lap as I drove down Naismith Drive to the SE corner of the Field House (where crowds of people from the big lot (90?) cross the street). I spoke loudly to give the impression I was late and in a hurry. I said to the cop as I pointed to the pizza box, "Pizza for the press box!!" Without questioning me, he waved me through to park right behind the Field House. True Story. I swear!

@Jayhawk_69 a win Monday would be massive imo, and would put us right back on track, especially if our core players all play fairly well to well.

@ROCKCHALK2025 I don’t think he’s ready by any stretch of imagination but you never know. Cheick diallo was drafted 33rd without really playing and a similar build to Flory.

Sorry... I've been AWOL! I only watched 3 minutes of this game, and I'm glad I missed it. I just looked at the box score and it feeds right into a thought I've had for quite some time.... it's about Tre. Tre has been our most consistent player all year and I am very glad we have him, because he usually finds his way to putting up good stats with lots of points and some needed rebounds. I'm thinking Tre is a guy who always takes advantage of the opportunity to prosper on average defenders. But when the competition toughens up, his production dies. He scored 2 against ISU, and 4 against UA. And I noticed this same trend in other tough battles. We really can't afford almost no production from any position. This is worse than Juan. Concerning DP... it was hard to imagine him doing well in this game. Hostile environment and energetic defense. Coming off the flu. Knocking the rust off his game. And he still isn't integrated into the offense. Until he starts averaging at least 4 apg, I won't be convinced he is integrated. He should be creating even more than that! I've heard all the excuses why he doesn't produce assists and I'm not buying any of them. His assist line might not be as important to NBA scouts as his points line, but I guarantee you it is important. At this point in the season, he really can't miss more games if we hope on really capitalizing on using him towards anything near the potential. But since our depth is limited, we can still use him no matter what, but we just can't hope to get a real bump. I wasn't really expecting we would leave the Hilton with a W, but I was hoping more for a loss similar to what UH just had. To see such a fall off like that doesn't really give me March optimism. But I predicted we would lose a few more then have another team meeting like we did earlier. We've seen so much recent growth... hope that keeps going because we need more development to be truly competitive in March. I've forgotten completely about competing for the B12 crown.

@FarmerJayhawk said in Kansas Jayhawks vs Arizona Wild Cats Game Chat Mon. 2/9 8:00 CT: The local establishment I was at last night (which has $3.50 all drafts on Mondays, hell of a deal) was absolutely belligerent in the best ways during the game. Nothing compares to Mass St during Final Fours but it was crazy for a Monday night in February. Mass street is always wild on game days. We couldn’t even get in anywhere to eat Saturday after 11 am.

@drgnslayr Flory shut down AJ to start the BYU game and shut down Toppin to the tune of 10 points from the reigning Big 12 PPY, He is a better athlete than Rodman and really better all around. With Tiller having more impact almost each game on both ends and too big for other four's and with a stroke once he can tame it look out. The coaches are urging him to shoot from deep and mid range you can tell. When Tre and Melvin got used to the freedom on offense and the modified switching on defense, which is actually getting better, there's not a weak link anymore. It will be interesting how we handle Utah and hopefully get court time and shot attempts beyond Elmarko and Jamari. DP doesn't act like a freshman and you don't get as skilled and polished as he is without putting in endless practice hours. How good is Zona anyway that's what I want to see. There are some trap games like OSU and Cincy still to come.

@kjayhawks2.0 Yeah health is this team's only major weakness lol. That and would like a more consistent bench, but both Mari and Elmarko have shown they can make an impact at times.

@mayjay I have assumed for quite some time that Flory would not he high on NBA draft boards due to the fact that he is undersized for a center and has no outside shot. But if he is projected to go in the first round then I guess I am wrong and Flory is probably gone after this season.

And and and if you guys treat this like a revenge game and take care of business you can dunk on em to finish it. You can earn that.

We didn't get up by 20 at the half just because of DP. Saunders didn't just fall out of a tree in the second. 24 in a half is a fluke and probably made him some money later

I always agree with Self on calls like that, you get some you maybe shouldn’t and then don’t get some you should. It’s ends up balancing out by the end of the year. To my point Flory got slapped in the face and put in a headlock in Manhattan while Melvin was called for a foul for getting elbows hard enough to draw blood. It was one call that horse has already been beaten to death. I’m ready to move on.

@ROCKCHALK2025 Yeah he got the best of him in HS. Now let's see how this round goes.. DP isn't 100% so hopefully he doesn't try to do too much if he isn't physically able to.

Analytics loved the KU win over Iowa St. Moved up from #23 to #17 on Kenpom. Offense jumped from the 50's to #34 so that offensive performance was well above expected. Defense has dropped nearly 10 spots this month

@approxinfinity Even in our 2018 FF run this holds somewhat true. While Devonte Graham was our best player throughout the season, Malik Newman emerged as our best player in the postseason allowing Devonte to shift into the roll of a secondary star/facilitator.
