Starters played too many minutes and we didn’t rebound

@approxinfinity @drgnslayr @nuleafjhawk thats the issue it’s not about academics, tradition, hell id even argue it has much less to do with basketball. It’s about money and only money for most. I bet 90% of our roster would go elsewhere for more money tomorrow. AFH isn’t the problem, I was told by several people the atmosphere was top tier Tuesday evening. One of two things is going on either we aren’t good at evaluating talent and are paying the wrong guys. Or we don’t have NIL to compete with the UConn, Duke, UNC and several others. I’ve gone back and forth with which it is, Most likely a little of both. Let me ask ya’ll outside of the last few seasons, when has Kansas not had hands down the best roster in the conference? How about a top 5-10 roster in the Country? I’m not sure I can remember not having hands down the best team in the conference since its inception before 2024. Id trade our roster all day for Duke or UNC prob Houston or Arizona maybe BYU.

Saddest stat of the season so far….. Darryn Peterson has played a grand total of 22 minutes in AFH.

DP played 32 minutes last night and hit some very clutch FTs. Everyone criticizing him should be on here singing his praises. I believe in accountability but also believe in a pat on the behind. Great game DP, let’s keep it going young fella!

Kinda frustrating that Jason Bean may not get a chance in Indy. They are going to sign 44 year Phillip Rivers to play. Seems pretty silly to me, you got a young that could have future or an old guy that is years past his prime

Let’s all try to be supportive of DP at this point. It sucks all around, @rcjhdraft I’d guess he’s outta the top 10 if the draft happened tomorrow. Most of the mock drafts haven’t been updated since play started. Wilson at UNC and Boozer look like better players at this point and several others are close. The article I showed on the old site that espn did last week didn’t list DP has a top 10 freshman right now and I agree. He has to play to be a top 10 freshman.

I’m starting to think being 37 years old I maybe one of the youngsters on here haha. @jojoandme I really enjoy the old stories from before my time. 100% Wilt is the GOAT imo, people forget he was a track star and unbelievably athletic. They are only about 5 guys the good lord put on earth with his size and athleticism. They changed the rules time and time again to prevent Wilt from dominating games. They changed the rules time and time again so guys like Michael and LeBron could dominate. Big difference in the two. If Wilt was born about 20 years later it wouldn’t even be a question as to whom the greatest was in college or professional.

@Tallturd1 @approxinfinity Kohl is a first round draft pick in a few years. He reminds me a lot of Christian Braun right now as a youngster. I’m hoping we can keep him, Elmarko, Paul, Samis and Mari. I still see value in having a nucleus of players staying.

To me when Self started talking about the parents wanting him to be 100% before he plays was a little bit of him calling them out for such. I’m willing to bet his parents learn a very hard lesson once he signs an NBA contract, they have zero say in what goes down from that point forward. Ain’t no NBA team listening to that noise, I’ve been told Carl Henry learned that same lesson pretty hard once upon a time. Obviously he’s a much better player than Henry but with how some of the other freshman are actually playing I’d be shocked if he goes number #1 playing so sparingly with the side show circus.

We had zero business winning that game, that being said. That’s the type of game that can turn around a season. Flory maybe the key. Believe he had 6 points and 3 rebounds with 6 minutes left. He finished with 16 and 9

Bill still hasn’t shortened the bench, we need run and pressure more with this group’s athleticism

To me as long as DP continues to play some amount of minutes each game, we will continue to improve when he is on the floor.
