@drgnslayr that sounds fake, Facebook has a bunch fake stuff on college basketball quotes right now. Apparently they didn’t have enough other fake stuff on there lol. There is even one for Kansas saying all sorts of stuff on Self.

My recommendation: abandon facebook immediately and take all your friends with you. Im happy to set up emergency categories here for anyone looking for a less toxic home. And Im very actively working on better alternatives in the social space. Hopefully others are as well.

@approxinfinity I abandoned Hatebook about 5 years ago. Wish I'd done it sooner. My only "social media" now is kubuckets. Facebook has gotten so bad that Sunday our pastor encouraged everyone to dump it.

This thread is "Parody Only!" I later discovered this was fake. But that doesn't mean we can't have fun with it anyways! What isn't fake are all the "Duke calls" giving Duke an unfair advantage in games. I don't think they get quite as many of those since K retired. He was the true master at working refs.

I agree with others... Facebook is completely toxic. And Facebook actually works on keeping it toxic, because it intentionally pushes peoples' buttons to keep them engaged. What started as a great idea (social media) to bring people together, now is more about tribalizing the world and then create animosity between tribes. I admit my own guilt... to being in the 90% of the CBB that dislikes Duke! lol

I think we got some calls in our elite 8 with Duke in 2018. Refs must not have gotten the memo about coach K.

@wissox83 what did you think of the refs in this UCONN vs Duke game? The only thing that sticks in my mind was when Boozer put his shoulder down and rammed the little guy in the paint like a fullback in football and a no-call. Even the announcers called that one out.

@drgnslayr I never watch either team unless i'm obligated to either against one of my teams or it's a high stakes game like a natty. If I was home and figured out Duke might blow a 19 point lead I might have tuned in.
But I watch Us, UW, some Big Ten, the Sox, and Bears. I watch golf. Some soccer.
High school state tournament is some of my favorite viewing. Never seen a game that Lebron played in except little snippets here or there.

The false quotes are just for views, just like the Hurley headbutt headlines. I watched the video a couple of times and said what headbutt. But the telltale take came from the referee himself who said "what are you talking about?" We all have to get use to false headlines, etc. Just like the people we all remember speaking out and we knew most of what they were saying was false. Keep your skeptical filters in place folks. It's a bumpy ride on the internet.
