2026 Transfer Portal Chaos/Madness Thread

He’s going to Duke is the early word.
-
Our future "key to success" is to develop players well within a season and get them to perform well in March. If we just count on recruiting or keeping big talent, it gets too expensive to build an entire team like that.
-
I believe that all players - basketball, football, baseball, field hockey, ice dancers, water poloists, etc.. should be paid a minimum of 10 billion dollars per semester and can only stay at one school for a maximum of one semester.

@nuleafjhawk shakespearian actors?
-
@approxinfinity that's a good analysis. Rigglle is bonkers.
-
@kjayhawks2.0 Wouldn't be surprised if Bill is just done dealing with his guardian. Will be telling if the first portal visitor is a big man.
-
@nuleafjhawk I meant player types that need to get paid. If only we funded art.
-
I take that back, immediately. Dont fund art. It would suck all the joy out of it.
-
@approxinfinity I love both of those posts. Every time we discuss NIL dollars, I think “what about art, scholarship, ….?” The things that really do matter. (And yet I’ve watched 99% of our games from start to finish for many years.)
-
Flory isn’t going to Duke. There’s a world where he comes back but the market conditions would have to change somewhat.
-
@FarmerJayhawk I think he stays in the draft and if goes first round, can’t hardly blame him.
-
My inside sources are telling me that Flory will play for Kansas, Duke, Auburn, an undetermined other school with a big NIL offer, or an NBA team next season. No need to thank me for the early scoop.
-
Someone flash the Boothman beacon, lets bring Flory back
-
Tbh as far as I could tell, Flory and Self had a good relationship. Would love to see that be the foundation of our locker room. Flory as the senior statesman and Self whisperer
-
@kjayhawks2.0 hes not a first round talent
-
@Jayhawk_69 a big nil offer for a 6'7 big who cant score?
-
Tough call on Flory.
Strengths: a big who can hedge on the perimeter like Self wants! Those don’t grow on trees. He can stick with smaller players with his quick feet. Shot blocker. His around-the-basket scoring is greatly improved. Bouncy. Mobile.
Weaknesses: Big bigs!
So he’s an asset some games, and a weakness others.
I guess I’d prefer an inside player to be a strength vs other inside players. He’s not that, mostly.
Not that I (or we) have a clue about how NIL money is tossed around, but I’d say he’s not worth the lion’s share if it limits spending on filling out the roster with other quality players.
Spend it elsewhere, on some shooting and depth.
