2026 Transfer Portal Chaos/Madness Thread

I thought, even though I don't think u get much from those games, Kinney played pretty good D. Had a 3 and made nice passes. I saw at least 1 dunk from him, and a missed dunk. Overall I thought he was good. I missed the first part. Stokes was definitely a team guy, great passes, good dunker, good boarder. Pretty impressed. Paul pierce was there, his nephew is going to Mizzou, he played. Ugh. PP went thru the hand shake line and didn't say anything to Stokes. Thought he did more at the KU game! Think we'd be lucky to get Stokes too.

Certainly a down class overall. Stokes has shown improved passing skills, perhaps one of the best in the class. You can see him turn it on at times and be really impactful.
Kinney will be impactful but he's going to need a stud running mate to take the pressure off. I found his passing and defense to be encouraging as well.
I found myself a bit jealous of where certain guys landed. Cameron Williams going to Duke, ugh. Richardson going to Bama is very interesting considering his family and he's a heck of an athlete. Caleb Holt going to Zona sucks as he was one of my few favorites in the cycle. Crowe and Smith are buckets.

I watched Hunter's interview and gave it some time since I'm biased when it comes to him (not in a good way). I think for as bright as he seems at understanding things he fully earned some of the criticism brought his way. He earned it at Michigan too. Just my 2 cents there. It was rather interesting to hear a player that's gone through the portal madness and seen the highs and lows of it at times. Some of it i found as excuses while other parts eye opening. I'll keep ringing this horn but fit is so important, not only for their talent on the court but for their maturity as well. Not sure he was the latter here but worse was that it wasn't dealt with as much as I thought. Understand this era is difficult for coaches to navigate how disciplined they can be with certain players

@BeddieKU23 I agree man kind of a down class over all no 1 really impressed me

Sounds like the NIL budget could be the highest KU has had in the NIL era this offseason.
Flory received an initial offer with what sounds like a large raise from last years bump. Still to early on that one, may test NBA or portal again. Perhaps the Self news helps.
Bryson, Elmarko, Sam's, Kohl on transfer watch. Mari and Paul could return. The entire roster is up for grabs basically.

I come to you with more names...
Roberts Blums and Braden Frager

@Kcmatt7 about as well as Kansas?
Maryland took 2nd to last in the big 10. A&M with two former hawks barely made the tournament. Ole miss didn’t make it with Storr.
Very close to a 4-seed.

Are we being serious in here??? Just now catching up. Yeah Maryland is what you get when Diggy is starting at guard. He was in the proper role at Kansas. Storr got benched by Chris Beard... My goodness.

Alright fine, I'll take my 1st weekend exit glasses off. Now, I see your point.

I actually think the real indictment of the staff is they haven’t evaluated talent well enough in the NIL era.
Gone after big names instead of grinding the tape.

Yeah, this I agree with. They did a better job of it this last offseason. Melvin and Tre were hits, especially Melvin for what Bill loves but you wish he could have shot it a bit better. JD was the big miss. He got starter money to rack DNPs. That one really stung because they really could have used the shooting he offered. A big part of why things fell apart is because teams could blitz Darryn on ball screens because there was typically at most one other player out there that the defense had to truly respect from three point range. I can't really say any of those were lazy takes just going after names.
Dusty May is someone who has done an incredible job. Yaxel was obvious but none of their other portal additions were when you looked at most transfer ranking lists from last offseason.

Blume is an absolute flamethrower. Frager is a really, really good player but I’d think it would take a small mountain of cash to get him away from Lincoln. He’s from there and Nubs seems like they’re ascending.

My guess is Frager is an option B if we don't get Stokes. With the money we would save from not paying stokes I am sure we could afford Frager if we really wanted him.
