@nuleafjhawk We would not be 3-0 with K-State's schedule. In at least one of those games, we would have fumbled, blundered, blustered, and clowned our way to a slapstickishy comical loss

Ugh. Fugly to watch at times.

Lance has made us competitive. So can’t argue there. But it would be nice to win winnable games once in a while. The laughably predictable ways we lose games is just painful to watch.

I know it’s just one factor, but that punter. Omg.

Take away whatever that one punt was supposed to be and I still wish we had another punter. Just watching that style of running around before he kicks it makes me wanna vomit. Stop running around and just Kick the freaking ball! Embarrassing.

I admit I fell asleep on the couch for lots of the second half, so missed lots, but Marshall doesn’t seem like an adequate QB.

Play calling and execution were both bad.

I’m sad to say we may not win another game this year.

Marshall played well in the second half. He has definitely taken a huge step forward since last week and this loss is not on him in any way shape and form.

It is a shame that we wasted the one good defensive performance we will get this year on a humiliating loss.

There is no hope for the rest of the season. We will not learn from this loss. We will not become a better team from here on out. We will not be resilient. We will not be successful.

@Jayhawk_69 this is true and I’m personally fine if we give him next year but if we want a good hire, we would need to up our NIL budget. It appears most of that 300 million dollar donation went to the stadium and not to the players. By the time the stadium is done we will have some of the nicest facilities in the B12. Cignetti turned Indiana around instantly. If you get the right guy here, it’s doable.

Cignetti doesn't win the title last year without Mark Cuban's money. Yes, he is a great coach, but without Cuban's NIL money, he doesn't get Indiana over the 8-9 plateau because he wouldn't have the money to retain his good players and bring in top transfers.

I'll have to wake up and watch the second half. Marshall seemed up to his old inaccurate tricks early on. It seems like the coaching staff couldn't trust him to throw the ball. Third and long ... run.

Also, generally speaking, i think our defense has been good to respectable -- except for a few idiotic plays here and there. Run game D seems good.

I just looked at the game stats. wow. we outgained em by quite a margin!!! how did we lose?

Marshall was not great. But he was not awful either. He played okay, which is more than we can say about many other players.

In the first half he and our offense couldn't do anything, but in the second half Marshall made some great throws and was consistently moving the ball. He threw one pick, but that was in a 4th and 10 desperation situation that he was put in by the failures elsewhere on our team.

Outgaining them by 200 yards and still losing is something you just have to admire. Nobody loves losing as much as Kansas football and we are damn good at it

Lance is 2-8 in recent one score games. One perspective is that he has made us "competitive." Is that enough? We lost by one score to a team that has essentially the same NIL football budget. Could have won if we'd have cleaned up the mistakes. Remember . . . the stats were in our favor. Let's hope the staff can clean up the mistakes moving forward.
BTW The up and coming coach is at Tulsa -- Tre Lamb. One last thought: It's not an even playing field. Our football NIL is 11th in the 16-team Big 12.

It’s not enough to last here forever or at least I hope not

                    @Texas-Hawk-10

4th down we were losing 17 to 7 and went for it. If a FG was successful we are behind by 7 which is a TD and extra point. One score game. Maybe by going for the first down he was trying to send a message to the team.

@JoJoAndMe in KU language, "competitive" means we don't get spanked quite as bad as we used to.

You know it was much easier to be a KU football fan from 2010-2021. We knew we would likely win 1 or 2 games, 3 if the ball bounced right one game. Currently we are going to win 3-5 games, completely blow the game 3-4 times a year and I personally walk away feeling worse. Our football program is more competitive sure but we have dumped hundreds of millions into the program. Now we are not only still losing more than we are winning in football but we don’t have basketball to look forward too. It cost us everything and we gained very little.

Ugh, I woke up still steamed over that punt! Pretty much a downward spiral of classic KU football from there.

I can only guess, as a former golfer and soccer player, that it was a classic double cross.

Going for a slice, and ended up with a hook or straight ball.

And when you’re aiming left, and miss, now you’re in the water hazard!

                                We suck.

The team almost looks functional. We remain cautiously pessimistic.
