I’m gonna highly doubt Self came back for the money. My inside sources say he more fun last season than he has in a long time so he decided to ride again. Making what he has made at both a head coach at Illinois and Kansas he likely has an account somewhere where with $50 million just sitting.

I think TK and Kohl are both pros they just ain’t pros at this time next season. Blyden I’m still the air about right now with him not playing against great teams. I think he is athletic enough to but you’ll have to get back with me in about 10 months. Without Stokes this is a bubble team IMO, with Stokes I could convince myself a top 5 finish in the conference and maybe a S16 given the right road.

@kjayhawks2.0 I'm not a Kohl believer at all. Don't think he can shoot and he has no ball skills. It's all just fast break or spot up.

I am at this point he really reminds me of Braun early in his career. Yes he has a lot to work on but I think he’ll be really good in a few years

I do not see that comparison at all. I'll be happy if he contributes even at the level of CB's freshman season this year.

You don't see the comparison between Braun and Rosario!? How?! They are both real lunch-pail-to-work guys, both gym rats, both first-guy-in/last-guy-out work ethic guys, both gritty glue guys and are both high-iq players whom I would let my non-existent daughter date! I would even say they are both in the vein of Brady Morningstar, Doug McDermott, and Larry Bird.

HA. They are in fact both white. That's about where the comparison ends for me.

If we want to go with a somewhat recent KU comparison he plays similarly to Freshman season Ochai did.

I like many of Kohl’s traits.
Mainly, he’s all over the place on the floor. Love that basic “skill”. Excellent hustle and strength. Love that he hits the boards and gets after loose balls.
His shooting can’t get worse, so there’s hope. I’m sure he’ll grow considerably as a player given time.
Happy he’s on the team.

Freshman Ochai didn't go on to have a very good career. I can see why a young player who is similar to him wouldn't inspire very much confidence.

Kohl has shooting form that should make shots but doesnt. If his shot went in we would be very high on him.

@Jayhawk_69 Kind of like a homeless version but it's the best comparison I could think of because it's all spot ups, transition and cuts. Eventually in later seasons he developed a little to do some stuff on ball but largely his production was crafted/gassed up by Bill. Kohl took the opposite arc where he started early then got sent to the shadow realm however. I'm not trying to disparage him though, it was just meant to dispel the CB comparison as they played differently.
This got me curious enough to just now look at KU comps only via Torvik. And well, knock me over with a feather
I hope he is a productive bench piece though, truly.
