The gentleman who lived across the street from me passed away earlier this year and his wife was here a couple of weeks ago getting the 3 story house ready to sell. The for sale sign went up last weekend. Being nosy, I looked it up online and it is for sale for $750,000. Couple of the pictures were actually great at showing what my cove looks like.

Reminds me of this monster on the girls' window 3 years ago, right after installing new windows!

So me and my zero gardening skills started growing lemon cucumbers in some pots a few weeks back (not from seed).
Other than the initial powdery mildew that attacked them pretty quickly, they seem to be growing and making some flowers.
I put a stake with each to help them grow up (ha), but that doesn't seem to be working!
Any advice on how to support the growth and cucumbers?

@rockchalkjayhawk We always planted our climbers around the edge of the garden with a wire fence, for it to climb on. Picked many a cucumber and cantelope that way. Prop up some wire mesh behind them?

Thx for the advice. That sounds good. I was thinking about some wire mesh, too.
Oddly the outdoor stores didn’t have any! I’ll have to head over to the hardware store.
